Award and Exhibition History
Prior to 1994 - to numerous to list individually, ribbons awarded at local Bench Shows including Athabasca, Calmar, Millet and Edmonton Klondike Days Fair. 1994 - Miniature "Summer Mountains" won 1st and Viewer's Choice in the Traditional Small Quilt Challenge sponsored by the County Quilters 1995 February - Block titled "Oh Canada" won the Canada wide United Nations Block Competition. This block represents Canada and is one of 177 blocks combined into a quilt presented to the United Nations to celebrate its 50th Anniversary. Sponsored by Cultural Contacts, New York, NY. 1998 - Quilt titled "Dear Kazuko" was the only fibre art juried into Leduc's GALA (Gathering of Artist's in Leduc and Area) 1998 - Wallhanging titled "Together We Celebrate" won Viewer's Choice in the Edmonton & District Quilters' Guild's 20th Anniversary Challenge. This wallhanging also was sold at the Silent Auction bringing in the second highest bid of $155.00 CDN. 1998 - Quilt "Dear Kazuko" won 1st in the Original Wallhanging Category. Competition sponsored by the Focus on Fibre Art Association of Edmonton 1998 - Chosen as CQA/ACC's recipient of the Dorothy McMurdie Education Grant. 1999 - "Treasured Moments" won 1st place in CQA/ACC's Annual Trend Tex Challenge. 1999 - "Treasures For Sam" exhibited. Sponsored by the City of Leduc 2000 - "Treasures For Sam" selected to represent February in the 2000 Alberta Winter Games Fibre Art Calendar Competition 2000 - "Legend of the Moonflower" Exhibited and Donated to CQA/ACC's Annual Trend Tex Challenge 2000 - Wallhanging "My Country Cottage" exhibited in CQA/ACC's Invitational Show in Toronto, Ontario 2000 - Wallhanging "When Mom's In Her Garden" was juried into CQA/ACC's National Juried Show 2001 - Wallhanging Titled "I Cried, I Prayed" exhibited at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas as part of the America: From The Heart Exhibition 2002 - "I Cried, I Prayed" is selected to participate in a travelling exhibition of the 'America: From The Heart' Exhibition.
