Crazy Quilt Restoration 54" x 72" |
This wool and satin Crazy Quilt had been rescued from being used as a painter's drop cloth. The owners' dog had chewed off 2 corners in a moment of boredom and through everday use, a number of the feathered embroidery stitches had come undone. A few of the satin patches had started to wear away as well.
Using wools from my Grandmother's Scrap Collection, including a wool my Grandmother used to make my Mother's Going Away Suit for her Trousseau, I was able to rebuild the corners and replace the worn satin patches. All the feathered embroidery was repaired and a Hanging Sleeve was added.
